Hey guys...

Anyone got any idea's here....

this is how it goes...., the other night was in a carpark and had my car idling cause I was playing with the stereo didn't wanna kill it, then I looked at my temp gauge and seen it was almost on the H, had a look and the bigger of the 2 thermo fans had completley snaped off, killed the fuseable link, and a relay....

So I replaced the fuseable link, and relay and got a new fan.... now the fans won't come on unless a/c is on and car is over heating.... any idea's? I was told I could of possible killed the temp sensor...

That's probably what's happened. I had to replace mine not that long ago. From memory they're pretty cheap. If you have the workshop manual and a multimeter you could easily check the resistance just to make sure though.

yeah you posted in the thread about my sisters ks; her thermofans stopped working (auto electrical problem) and broke causing radiator hose to go boom; so yeah make sure its ok; she was lucky no bigger damage occured.

There are 2 relays for the fans, one will control the temp activation, the other will ensure the fans are on when the aircon is on,

relays are a very common problem in the second gen, i have seen new ones last barely days. Use the ones of the first gen, they last a lot longer

Yeah right, "fan snpped off etc etc" and you thought it was the thermostat.

IF a fan is not coming on it is not the thermostat if the car is getting hot:nuts:
