I've recently bought a set of 2-piece paras and had it sent over by a courier. It just arrived today and i found one of the glass lense shattered. Argh... Just as i feared. Not sure yet if it was insured. I'm totally distraught now. Totally.

Is there any replacement lense that i can buy, even if it means buying brand new from Mitsu dealer?

Surely you'd be able to put that back on the courier company...

And then they'd have to buy new one(s)

Take it up with the courier...what was the condition of the box it came in? Also did you have to sign for it?

It was a registered parcel but they didn't wait for my signature. They just left it at the reception counter in my office. The courier was Allied Express. The cardboard box was not broken or torn, just the usual dent and dirty etc. I've just spoken to the seller and this matter will be verified with Allied Express tomorrow. Not sure if they'll compensate. They jolly well do.

There is a tiny disclaimer on the delivery note that says "The freight company or person making the delivery shall not be liable for any loss or damage over and above that provided in the transport consitions for delivery on the consignment note." Note too sure what this means actually. :doubt:

At the moment i'm looking at the worst case scenario, which is no compensation and having to get a replacement lense on my own, if that is possible. So... anyone?

someone will correct me if im wrong not doubt. BUT as far as i know if you have the 2pc parra's you should just be able to swap the lens over from your standerd headlight.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH MY PARRAS!!

Yes :'( Well as i said on the phone, ill chase them up on any type of cover the courier company had. My packaging was the best, so it would of taken some uber banging for that to happen. It even had fragile sticker on it }:(

Do you know if its the left or the right one??
Im interested in if the current headlight glass can be used as someone mentioned. Duno about that - can anyone confirm??

Depending on the responsibility that the couriers take (i duno if they have any if you signed for it - because thats why people should check before signing! hehe im not blaming you i dont open and check stuff either). But we'll sort someting out. Ive seen someone try to sell a single parra headlight before and im sure they'd be easier to find at a wreckers depending on if its the left/right headlight.

Im equally pissed as you atm. But will see whats the go when they open tomorrow. Just got home from work now.

Apologies again - btw... would you believe it, we decided on posting after my melbourne trip last month was cancelled (was going to install them), and now, im going to melbourne again in march... haha. well, at least i can intsall them for you when we get this sorted. lol

Hi Dee... It's the right one (see from the driver's seat). Or you can call it the left one if you stand facing the bonnet. :D Btw, the parcel was not signed for. They just left it without getting my signature. Thanks, Dee...

While Std headlight glass would probably fit the headlight assembly itself, I don't think you want to do that, non parabolic 3rd gen headlights have some 'lens' effects embossed in the glass itself (don't know the correct term for it........ but take a look for yourself), pretty sure the glass lens of the parabolics is almost perfectly clear, without any bends etc.

I could be wrong, but that was the impression I had. Heath Young would be the guy that would know for sure.

You rang? :)

The standard lens is fresnel (pronounced frennel) lensed - it would distort the light from the parabolics something awful. Not to mention it would be ugly :P

If it was the left hand (passenger) side I could have sorted you out with some glass, but alas I don't have a RHS one...

I have had a LOT of trouble getting hold of replacement glass for these - easy to get the Hella (standard) glass (ozeparts sells it) but the Stanley glass is near impossible (so far). Not even the dealers sell it! :(

Registered postage is insured for $200 even if insurance (extra) is not purchased.

Cheers

Yeah true enough the lense is visibly different from the standard headlights. There goes my glimmer of hope. I can't even get replacement Stanley glass from the dealer?! Oh man... Maybe that's cos they want you to buy the whole assembly?

Oh well... i'll just be try to be patient and see how things turn out then. Maybe good news is just around the corner. If anybody could help or know any other relevant info, it'll be much appreciated.

Seriously.... guys... in general the Austrailian demand for these lights is insane... they came STOCK on all 2g Diamantes here in the states, I'm sure if some of you guys registered over at our site (dont want to list it anymore as i dont know if i'm pissing off the mods or not) and posted a 'wanted' ad or even talked to a few of us about buying junkyard para's and shipping them you'd get EXACTLY what you wanted for no more then 100-150AUD a for a PAIR of headlights!

That would be awesome Dpack. The amount of money that is charged for them over here is crazy!..... Eddie, generally the registered courier for the company does NOT take any responsibility for damaged or lost freight. Its left up to the supplier to take any issues with stock on board. Chances are if you break down into tears they will replace it. You may have to send it back to them, so they can confirm.

i want to digress a sec, he didnt sign for the lights, so the delivery company is at fault for not getting a signature for a start, they theyve clearly smashed the light, i would hammer them into the pavement, get those usless sods to replace the light.let em get away with this and it will only get worse.
