I have just recently installed a new cd player into my TP wagon. I would really appreciate it if someone could post a wiring diagram here. Cos since installing the cd player I have lost my clock (however the light for clock goes), My interior lights, and sometimes when you turn the key on - there is zip, nothing, no lights nothing.

Your help is much appreaciated, thanks in advance

blue wire = acc (cigarette lighter fuse)
red/white = constant 12 (room fuse)

clock runs off cigarette fuse, interior lights run off room fuse... check fuses if things dont work.

better off putting new wires to speakers if possible... but if you still need a wiring diagram, i can probably scan it

wiring loom for speakers under the gearstick also contains the speaker wiresbut the stock wiring is homo... in a glx/se uses a common -ve for the speakers... not good for replacement cd player

i think we have mucked up the acc and constant wires, cos i have blown the clock fuse already. but what i dont understand is (don't know if it was a once off) when i turned the key on, there was no dash lights nothing, no electrics wot soever. We solved it by taken of the cd players earth wire and put it back on. Does that mean it is earthing out

thanks heap magna buff.
I just went out to start doing the stereo and realised that i don't really understand the colour codes from the diagram. can you explain these codes for me (i understand wiring diagrams, but have forgotten the colour codes).

R = Red
L = ?
SB = ?
GB = ?
B = Brown?
S = ?
G = Green.

Ok what i have going into the first 'connector' (from the old stereo) to the 2nd connector (the wiring loom) is and what i have worked out so far.

1st connector

BLK GRN BLANK WHT RED(with fuse)

GRY BLANK BLANK BLANK

2nd Connector (into the 1st)

BLK/RED RED ORANGE WHT/RED BLUE/RED

BLK/WHT BLU BLANK GRN/WHT

And what I have worked out so far

Blu/Blk - earth
Blk/Wht - right front speaker
Red - left front speaker
Blu - (thick wire)
Org (thick wire) ???
Wht/red - clock fuse
Blu/red (fused) Hot in Run and ACC
Grn/wht ????

i don't have to worry about rear speakers - as i have done those myself.

God I hope that makes sense

re wire all the speakers ureself and the costant on the dec
only use the illume wire, and ignition power from the cars loom, if u short these accidently ure clock, interior lights and stuff wont work cause u blow the fuse for em, done it loads of times

Thanks guys for all your help.

I managed to get it going. My neighbour, who assured me knew what he was doing - wired up the ignition and battery to the same wire. hence he blow my fuse for the door lights, clock etc.

The Old Fart (dad), managed to get it all wired up (it does pay to listen sometimes),

Now I have the stereo all hooked up with the 6x9s in the boot, all I have to get now is some ear plugs for the wee man (my 2 1/2yr), so I don't blow ears out. - And put all the covers back on

Thanks again guys
