Hi,

Has anyone with a TL or TW that has a switchable Traction control button notice it has alot more pep in it's step when it's turned off.

I also read this in the TW Brochure that i have.

"Trace Control enables the driver to keep the vehicle ona chosen line by constantly monitoring steering input and vehicle speed instantaneously adjusting engine power as required. When the system detects that the driver intends to accelerate excessively the engine output is controlled."

What a F****n kill joy.

The reason i ask this is because i have never been bothered turning it off untill last night, and it felt like a different car

of course...thats the only really way it can cause you from not spinning

if you put traction control on in the wet and put ur foot flat off the line see how fast the car goes lol

The traction and trace control leaves a lot to be desired. Instead of limiting slip it just removes power completely. I have been caught a few times putting the foot down to get a gap in an intersection, and TCL has kicked in and i've just creeped across the intersection. Because of this I generally turn it off as soon as I start the car. My ass and right foot become a much better TCL system (in the dry at least)

I was part way through developing/scoping out a 'TCL always off' kit that turns it off as the car starts up. I lost motivation, but if theres some interest from others I'll start looking at it again.

funny you say that, they day i got my TJ from the dealer, sat in, turned over the engine, the salesman was standing next to me and states, oh BTW, the TCL button is here (turns it off) and gives me a bit of the old ;)
