Hey guys i thought id update my progress, the engine was nearly gone and forgotten, but then help had arrived, im going to take pics and put them up today of the engine finished, tomorrow (monday 20//2/06) it goes into the car, and then straight up to the performance place were i hope to drive it out from, the engine has been built specifically for a turbo, compression has been lowered, i cant work out how much by, its has a stage 2 turbo cam and stage 2 port and polish, im just about to add the finishing touches while the engines is still out of the car, its been a long process but its getting close, also i have a new standard clutch because im unshure of the HP it will make defenantly above 200 tho, and then i will invest in a new aftermarket clutch.

Rocker cover looks nice white, the intake would look nicer polished silver imo :) What goodies did you rebuilt it with?

Thats a secret 4 now, lets just wait after the dyno run :D, i might get a custom intake made up later down the track, i just want to be up and running for now, its been off the road for 7 months now

wait 6x600 is 2400cc which is smaller than 2600cc does that mean your injecters are smaller than the stock ones. just asking as i dont understand and i want to turbo as well in the future

lol no u got it the wrong way dude, put it this way, 600cc are more than enough, these injectors support up to 800hp (horsepower)

stock TR injectors are like 290cc or something so common sense would prevail before stating your opinion.. before questioning someone doing a turbo project who a handfull have attempted

Why did you mutiply it by 6? These engines (4G54) are 2600cc but they're 4 cylinder :)

wot injectors can u use from other engines as a straight swap to get higher flow...? ive got the blue tipped ones atm anyone know wot thay flow like?

Killbilly

They're already pretty well flowing. In falcon and commo modding circles, they source the 4cyl blue injectors for their v6's for higher flow.

yeah i had heard that but my engine is being built to almost drag specs and im getting aftermarket ecu so thought bout increasing injector size and fuel pump... any tips ??

a little over the top for what you will be using it for.

the XR6T's that are punching out 350rwkw arent even using that kind of flow..

Im so happy that you are modding an Astron :)

Just wondering what kind of power figures you think you will be getting before slapping on the turbo since you upgraded the internals ?

He built it low comp to run boost so while its NA it'll run like fat kids

haha yeah ive driven the car on the upgraded internals and with the cam and low compression i think my bros excel will beat this, so no driving round for me yet, just adding the final touches to the car, should be seing the performance place for 2 weeks probably next week i will send it in.

haha true true.

Its always best to play it safe than have the engine lean out.
