Have just painted my console, instrument cluster and air vents, and have now got most of it back in place. Only prob I'm having is getting the centre air vents back in place and the surround to clip back into the dash? Does anyone have any tricks of the trade of easy way to do this??
Promise pics when it's back together...
Thanks

Okay, have looked and this is great for disassembling, but having majors getting it back together (particularly the air con vents in the centre and it's plastic surround ) as already mentioned.
Anyone have an idea?? What about you guys that have already painted your console??

It should click in with little amount of force, if not theres something wrong.. have a look at the pins at the back matching up.

Have you puit the consol back in the same order that you took it out - but reversed of course. It all neesd to go in the right order otherwise it wont clip in properly.
If that still fails, take it to mitsu for your next service and ask them to put it back in for you, i did that when i stuffed my consol, they did it at no charge for me (just charged an arm n a leg for everythign else ;) )
You might have possibly bent the steel bracing around the sides taht hold the H/U in, but thats more likely to happen if u use force to remove your headunit. should be reverse of how to took it apart. should get someone from here to help u out :P
I think your problem might be from the RHS of the air-con vent piece, where it has them fiddly clips and stuff? Put the main piece with the controls and stuff on first. put the cable back onto the RHS controls, and shove the vent piece back in. Remember to line everything up first, and make sure it all clips in.

make sure you put the mechanical cables that control the hot/cool selector the right way through the surrounding plastic/metal. Also make sure the additional thickness of the paint isnt stopping the clips from inserting.
