With the dohc I was thinking of boring it to 3.3l (heard someone did that to the sohc so I assume it'd be ok for the dohc too) what benefits would I get from that? and what else would I have to do (regarding pistons etc) to make everything match up properly?

Thanks peeps!

Youd have to do some computer adjustments to allow more fuel i would think...

Im going to get a haltech e6k so that will fix that no probs..
I was wondering about more tech things such as will I need new pistons or can the old ones be adjusted somehow etc...will I have to strengthen cams, crank etc ...

Prolly best I do anyway...

No you would need new pistons... I wouldn't really bother about boring it out. Instead leave it stock until you need a rebuild. Put the money into the head like a port and polish.

LoL...sorry I must given the wrong idea.

I'm talking about the DOHC 24v motor im going to put into my TR, so it's going to get rebuilt before it goes in...ANYTHING engine-wise is going to be all done before I even think about putting it in.

So basically I'm going to port and polish but I was thinking about boring as well...Will it give more bottom end torque?

I've asked Dave but he doesnt answer me...I know he's prolly busy, just gets a little frustrating tho..coz there's noone around here that I can talk to (as in where I live..not on aussiemagna! lol)

killbilly , i dun think you need a borr nut you just need new pistons and condrods this whell give you the extra distplacenesmnts but i would for some higher compresion ratios pistons then higher siesplanet cause its f you go higher displanestmt you will loose your reline
