just bought a 1998 magna and want to start modding it.

so far from browsing this website i have compiled the following list. what i would like is some help with where to purchase and what some options are for each specific part.

Engine
Exhaust: cat back system, whats best? from where? i was thinking 2.5inch?
Extractor: from RPW
CAI: K&N ram filter kit from RPW.
Chip: Unichip, is that the best one?
high flow throttle bodies

Suspension
KYB AGX struts? best value for money?
Kings Springs super lows
whiteline front and rear strutbrace
whiteline front camber correction

Exterior
2 peice parabolics. from what model do they need to come from? wheres the best place in WA?
tinted stock taillights.
bodykit? who makes them? i was thinking maybe VRX or the other kit that SSV.com sells.
darkest legal tint...
black 18" wheels with polished lip.

Interior
work something out for ICE
stock seats for now.
maybe paint dash black???
white face gauges. where from?

i think thats about it for now.
now of course that wont all be at once as im still only 17. this will be for more cruising than performance.

is there anything else you guys can think of?

cheers, ned

yeh, pimpin.... just a quick suggestion, when you go searchin for parabolics, try and get one piece, cos they have the parkers built in, 2 pieces uually cme off a verada, and they have the parkers in the bumper, so you gotta cut them and **** to fit parkers, and as far i i knew, the dash is already black, body kit, check out jvm design, or pm wtchme, he runs the company i guess, try steer clear of rpw aswell, they have good stuff but i think theyre a bit over priced, and if your after a body kit, try the spoilershop in o connor i think it is, of pm jpeg, his car is kitted out, exhaust, just shop around really, everywheres diff, but yeh go for a 2.5" system, and dont worry about a hi flo cat, not really needed, cos apparently they dont flow **** over stock ones..... i was told that by the guy where i got my zorst done, i got no reason not to believe him, cos if it wasnt true he had just talked himself out of another 250-300 bucks

edit: forgot to ad, parabolics=f*%k all chance, very rare, unless you wanna pay 600 a peice from mitsu brand spankers

Good point about the parras..The only good thing about 2 piece is they are glass..:)

for parras, i might try local wreckers. im in a small town so maybe the yokals might not know the worth of those headlights sitting in seniles grandpas totaled verada.

yeh, bout the dash. had a brainfart, i want silver centre peices but was thinking black rims at the time. :D

bah, 20" are too exspenisive on a first years app wage. also, dont want the speedo too outta whack.

For a few of those mods you could get lucky and get a dead car off ebay or where-ever for a good price, and if you have some place to store the car or the parts you will have things that die on every old car, things like water pumps, through to window winders.
I like the elantra body kits, and it would cost a hell of a lot more to buy something else new that may or may not look better.

Good luck with your first car, keep your licence, have fun; and you got a good car to work on and play in.

yeh, i hope i keep my licence.

just wondering what lowering springs you guys are using. i was thinking kings cause i can get them cheap but i also like the sound of lovells?

also, is there a manual shift kit for the magna autos available?

someone reccommend contacting WATCHME for bodykits. why, he just runs a VRX setup...unless the pictures on fastmagna.com are out of date.

are there any stand alone ECUs available for the magna?

manual transmission swaps? hard to do? hard to find parts? any documented how-to's or the like?

actually yeah the pictures on fastmagna were out of date. Just updated them last few days. I now run a custom front bar and eyelids.
