I need a little help here, i am picking up a Sub and Amp tommorow and i am unsure if i will require a new head unit.
I have a TJ with the stock CD player and i need to know if it has RCA outputs for the amplifier and also how do i remove it do i need keys?
Last thing, will i need to re-enter a code of somesort and if so where will i find this code?
Thanks guys!

Not necessarily...
You can get something called a hi low adapter... converts high level input from speaker wire into low level input (ie RCA cables). Doing that, you can just wire the amp up from the cable going to the rear 6x9's. Some amps even have high level inputs, built specifically to accomodate for people who odnt want to replace the factory head unit.

Oh my god im so silly, haha yes a high level input makes sence now ive seen these on AMPS and assumed it was for high frequency something similar to a HPF lol.

yup! thats how i did my initial setup, when i transferred most of the stuff over from my old car.
4ch amp had the line input, so i used that for the speakers, then the RCA out from the 4ch went to the sub amp. i was actually very suprised how good it managed to sound! if you added an EQ there would be almost no reason to change H/U

except that the Eq plus the high/low would probably be near enuff to the cost of a new HU ;)
