hey guys i've looked everywhere for some sort of lsd setup for 2.6 man tr magna. im currently building building an efi engine with eagle forged rods and pistons and all tha fruit... probably 250 hp ++++ by tha time i NOS it. only problem is i cant maintain traction even now with my current carby engine. anyone got any idea how i can get lsd or viscous coupling for tha diff???
There's a thread about this already. Killbilly mentioned some company made a product that makes your car 1 way limited slip but i think it was without even cracking open the gearbox/diff.. also someone mentioned maybe the 3000gt had an LSD, my TR v6 has the same gearbox code as the 3000gt so maybe you could get the gears from that or perhaps even a FTO/GTO.. look around and ask a gearbox/diff place..

i've rung 30 or 40 diff "specialists" and no one wants to touch it. any idea how i could find out which ones would actually fit in mine?

If the 2.6 manual is the same as the V6 box, then it's the same as the 3000GT FWD N/A 5 speed manual. Which means that the LSD's for FWD 3000GT's will fit no problem, keep in mind that's only if the gearboxes are the same as the V6's.
If not...the only option you have (that I know of) is what Nick mentioned, the Phantom Grip limited slip conversion, inexpensive to buy and fit. They yeild great results according to the 3000GT fanatics in the US (one of the fastest ones in the US has one...and he swears by it).
Grab me on msn if you want more info mate...I have piles of it but I just have to find it lol

no way dude no gear boxes from the 2nd gen magnas had lsd anywhere in tha world
Only magnas that came with LSD's are the Ralliarts, so unless your planning on using ralliart gear (which you can't) it will only happen by the below mentioned ideas.
magnatism - good stuff kid! let us know prices and all the details, who are you getting it off? US website? I was tempted but I thought my car would probably never get enough horses cranking to need one

yeah tha ralliarts dont fit the 2nd gen tho and nothing at all fits tha 2.6ltr 5 speed
man my carby engine breaks traction already wait for my new forged internals high comp nos engine
its looking bout 500 $aus just to get one here then i have to install it... instructions seem easy tho
got any idea where i would find the info on what code the 2.6l manual gearboxes are? i have been looking but not very often, i thought that the v6 and 4 cyl gearboxes were the same, this is what someone told me but now im not so sure.
Would love to hear how it turns out magnatism.
