Hi there, in my KH Verada factory stereo, would I be correct in saying that there are 2 rear speakers (6 x 9's) in the rear shelf, two 6's in the front doors, two little tweeters at the far edge of the front doors, and two mid-range speakers on the top of the dash at the base of the windscreen.

I find that the high-frequency response is quite good (albeit a little harsh) as there are 6 speakers up front, but the bass response is a bit lacking.

My main question though, is why the rear speakers only seem to produce bass & mid frequencies? Eg. If I adjust the fader so that only the 6 x 9's on the rear shelf are aplying, there's no treble nor clarity.

Does the problem lie with the 6x9 speakers themselves, or is the stock head unit wired to only put out bass and mid through the rear channels? If I replace the 6x9's with a new reputable pair, will this improve?

Thanks
Justin

definatly, dont get crap pioneer, sony, or kenwood 6x9s, but get something a little better, JBL, MTX, Blankput (or however you spell it). This will improve alot of the sound, Bass, Treble, Most Aspects Really.

gte something with a high power handling, so if you deicide to amp it later on, you've saved yourself some work

Hey there mate,

I have a KH Verada that i got only recently, and have coming from a car with a complete aftermarket Stereo, its hard to compare.

But i worked out a little trick to get some better sound from the stock system!

As the front stage has too much treble (that can be piercing), yet lack bass...

And the rear speaker are virtually the opposite, do this:

Adjust fader to the rear about 3 levels, then increase bass to anywhere between 0 and +3, and treble anywhere between +2 and +4.

You'll be able to turn the volume up, have some fairly punchy bass, and mid's and high's that arent to piercing!

Check it out, tell me what you think? :D
