Travelling at 80km in an 80 zone... look down to change radio, look up, oh **** railway crossing.

So the poor little TP left the ground and came down rather solidly, it felt like the world was in slowmo then bam. I think i have bent my steering arms and knocked my wheels way out of alignment (just had them aligned yesterday  ). The car constantly tries to turn left. I have also very unprofessionally lowered the rear suspension by siezing the rear shocks half compressed.

I hope to get it fixed this weekend by cannibalising parts from the junker i have in the back yard.

My poor baby...

I guess thats what happens when you buy a car built by an aeroplane manufacturer.

PS: I also broke all those little plastic things that hold the bumper on the front. But thats not important.

Well at least i can create the AMC///Mitsubishi Zero Division.

Sorry if my post is a little rambling im quite upset about it.

I have had a few cars flying but never done that sort of damage

I stopped after linning up my favourate jump to see a train out the corner of my eye and stopping closer than I want to think about.

At least you have a spare car

haha i did something similar once, dukes of hazzard style, on an express exit ramp (but i was going up it at about 70... its like a 45degree angle ramp then into a flat level... front wheels didnt go flat but kept skyrocketing upwards brining the centre of the underbelly of my car on the 45point.. lol... scared the crap out of me (was at 1am in a closed carpark so you nazi's can shush :P). She survived alright though.

My little TP has had a bad week. Its gone flying, been driven using only determination and prayers as fuel, peppered with rocks (cracking a headlight a parker and an indicator) by a mate spinning out on a dirt road while trying to impress me with his rear wheel driveness commodore and some bugger in an AU falcon reversed into it and drove off.

UPDATE!

The damage is less than i thought, but different than i thought. The steering problem is jujst alignment and not the actual steering arms but the shocks are still stuffed. Also the engine is now running really rough at idle and gear shifts are becoming more and more severe (its an auto). I think ive knocked something loose/bent something somewhere in the driveline/engine

Hey my car learned how to fly tonight too. I was coming back from sorento with a mate and drive into a curb at around 50kmh. My right front wheel left the ground and made the biggest "BANG!!!" sound ever.

Stopped at the lights couldnt see any damage apart from my hub cap is cracked and the car drives fine. Better then before even

Ill have a propper look tommorow for any damage.

That'll teach me for driving at night time. My eyes go funny at night.

that reminds me of this idiot in a commodore one day turning right at an intersection. I think he tried to drif around the corner, and accidently clipped the concrete kerb next to the traffic light, and the entire right side of the car tilted up, like it was alsmost about to roll. It was funny.

Mine i have had the wheels re-aligned and we swapped over the rear shocks. Now she is as good as before. I imagine you have knocked yours out of alignment and i would personally be checking my CV's for damage.

My 1st gen always landed fairly flat, but I didn’t want to try after I got it lowered.

my cousin did similar in his VX SS sedan. wasn't being stupid, only doing bout 50, but the corner was off camber and it thru the car over, rolled 3 times down an enbankment. luckly he got out ok. he's happy tho... got a VY SS ute out of it.

I think its just a thing with 1st gens. mine was always getting airborne, usually bouncing out of the floodway at 180km/h hehehehe did NOT like doing that with the 215s on, scrubbed like a *****.

good luck with getting it fixed.
