I'm just about to upgraded my 4 channel amp as my previous one was only giving 200rms to my new Xtant sub. The new amp will give about 2x125rms and 1x400rms, thing im worried about is that the front 2 chans will be running 125rms into my Focal splits, the splits are only rated at 75rms.
Whats peoples opinions? Will this be too much power for the splits or if the gains and xovers are set correctly will this just give it lots of headroom?
Cheers
Luke
The more power you have, the more headroom and hence control you have. You just have to ensure you set the gains correctly champ. :)

Yeah. just dont turn your gains for your splits all the way up. Then you will be ok.

Kewl thanks for that fellas.
That'll be easy to do as the gains min is for 5v input and my deck outputs 5v.
So with that much headroom should it sound better than it did with just the 75rms?

of course, as its not stretching the amp out to push power, but rather your getting a cleaner power source as the amp doesnt have to struggle
