Hi all, now I know this has been discussed to different degrees, and I have searched to find as much info as I could, but I was wondering if anyone has actually gone through with changing TF/TH tail lights to TJ, and if you could post some pics to show me the result.

no ones done it cos it would look stupid, just use you imagination, if you want to know why it would look stupid its cos the boot is indented and the lights arnt, so it would stick out a bit, gotta change boots aswell

I has been done a few times that I know of and yes, as you said the boot really needs to be changed too if you are going to do this, but there is a chance that the author of this thread didn't know this...

As for hlucin8's query, he was just asking the question.

The only stupid question is the one that isn't asked!

unscrew the old lights from inside the boot, change over lights then screw back up.
BUT!!!

A TE has got a line in the boot and lights. a TJ doesnt, so if you change the lights over your lights will stick out a couple of cm's unless u get a TJ boot aswell.

Yes I know that the boot would need to be changed too, just asking if anyone has made these changes (including or not including the boot). I have used my imagination, and it is not conclusive enough for me to figure out for myself if I want to do it, or if it would look stupid.

I think no one has done it, but if my mate (wez!) does get those chrome lights then I will change 1 light to the TJ version, to show u guys the difference.

It has been done - I've seen a TE-H in Brisbane with std TJ tail lights (don't think they're on the forum, never seen the car since). In all honesty - it didn't look that bad. Sure it doesnt match the lines of the boot, but even I didn't notice until I was pretty close to the car - so your average non magna enthusiast would probably never think anything of it.

The problem I see with doing this is that if you go to a TJ boot, you're gonna have the lines down the middle of the boot, so the bonnet would have to be changed also, and then the grill so that the lines are consistant from front to back :doubt: = $$$

yeah if u wanna be like all the other stupid dodgy ricers who have parts stuck on the car where they arent meant to....

use your imagination as u said....the lights sticking out, its gonna look gay

TJ lights are not meant to be used with TH boots!! they look like ****...but if your after the **** (hey lets slap on some lights that dont fit) look then go for it
