just wondering what are the widest mags that will fit on a 99 TH Magna. Was looking at some 18" x 8" at Bridgestone today but the guy said they won't fit. is 7.5" the widest?

I have 18" x 8.5" on my 99 TH Magna. Have some scrapage issues when i had my compressed superlow springs in but wif standard superlows they were fine

It might stick-out of your front guard. mine's just barely legal :D
So you're probably safe with the 7.5"

Before i got the Ralliart Kit which has the wheel flares my 8.5" wide rims stuck out a tiny bit. With the flares they dont anymore. If u go 7.5" or 8" shouldnt have any probs at all

All Comes Down to how low you want it.. if its standard height then you can put what ever you want as the guards are the issue.. if you get the offset right you can fit 8.5`s ob there but you will have to run a 225 tyre max as it will hit if not. thats only if you get the perfect offset to fit the car..

I was told by 7 tyre shops that i wouldnt get a 20x8.5 with 245/35`s on the back of mine if i dropped it 4 inchs..:P

Now you wont get these on a standard magna as the VRX and ralliart have a differant offset then the rest(4-6mm narrower). no tyre shops knew that either.. i did over a years research to make these fit..:)

You tell me.. Does that look like it did fit..:P

EDIT
**GRRR... Computer wont upload.. Ill upload them from my pc tomorrow. Darn Mysti:rant: **

he might have meant that particular rim wouldnt fit in a 8" wide, but that could have something to do with the offset. i'm running 18x7.5, and honestly they look a little skinny

Hi there,

I am looking to put alloys onto my VRX and was told by the local tyre shop that I would blow my insurance if I went to an 8" tyre width, the standard width is 6.5", therefore I could only go to 7.5" before the policy went poof.

Can anybody shd any light on this. Can I go the 8" rim or do I have to look at 7.5" rims.

Regards
Graham

best thing to do is speak to your insurance company, in SA if u went over an 1" wider then your wheels are illegal which woul void you insurance.
