Greetings All.

Ive been looking at front splits of late and was wondering, what sort of splits could i buy for under $500. Now this is the last part of my system.

I types of music i listen to are:
-Techo/electronic (Daft Punk/Pendulum/Etc)
-60's, 70's, 80's, 90's style (Michael Jackson/B-52's/The Knack/etc)
-Metal/Punk/Rock (Blink 182/Korn/etc)
-R&B/Hip Hop/etc (Black Eyed Peas/Pussy cat Dolls/etc)
-Pop (Yeah...all that other catchy crap)

Yeah...you get the idea...
The focus of the system is SQ, with a little bit of punch, just in case i want to enter a "friendly" SPL comp. Now...For my system:

Head Unit

-Pioneer DEH-4650MP

Front Stage

-Front Splits (dunno yet)
-Coustic AMP600s

Rear Fill

-Infinity Reference 6x9's
-Coustic AMP400s

Subs System

-Audiobarn 12" Sub woofers (x2)
-Jaycar D Class Mono-block

The jaycar monoblock will be run off the RCA preouts, while the Coustic amps will be run off high level imputs from the H/U.

I have been looking at some of the latest Alpine DD liner splits. They really were GREAT for $399. I also had a listen to a pair of Boston accoustics splits for $550, and i prefered the sharp sound of the Alpines...

So have you guys got any recomendations...?

Thanks All...

Look at OzAudio Vector Series splits. You can get them for $299.00 or some DD splits for $270.00. You wont be dissapointed with either.

mmmmmn, vifa :)

MMMMMMN DYNAUDIO!!!!! :D

Ah... add Hertz to Timmy's list... anyone who like dance/trance/techno should have them on the list. Try and have a listen to the 3-ways too... I had a headache for a week after I listened to them!

Oz Audio is a good choice, I'd take them over the alpines any day.

Pheonix Gold......um.... Vibe SA-K60's..... ah.... all depends what you want to spend really.

That said mate, you have heard my system..... and that's just decent quality coaxials in the front. Really gotta get those audiobahn's in!

Greetings All.

FHRX studios has some diamond audio 6" + 1" componants on sale.

Has anyone heard these? How do you guys think these would tie in with the rest of the system?

Diamond are very good.

Basically it will not matter if they "blend in" with the system, as these should be the speakers producing the most volume. You'd turn down your 6x9's so they didn't interfere with the sound.

And upgrading your splits to something decent will just want to make you upgrade your subs in the same direction. The bass that once sounded crisp and clear will all of a sudden be very muddy indeed.

Yep I'd recommend the diamond splits too...

Good gear...

What model though?

How much $$ u got to throw around? Dont forget door prep. U wouldnt mount house speakers in a rattly tin can would you?

Mdf spacers, sound deadening acoustic tiles etc.

Exactly. This is a standard door from us fitted with Diamond Hex s600:

Inner and outer skin is deadened. Diffusers are behind the speaker. Baffle is sealed into the door and midrange has a gasket onto the spacer. :)
