What type of music do you listen too?
Do you want pronounced bass or have you got a sub or intending on getting one?
For that Price you can get some nice:
Morel
Boston
Hertz
These are some of the most common and popular, but it all depends on you tastes and the rest of your system.
Cheers
Pete

Let your ears do the decision making. Remember the key is too listen to as many products as you can and let your own ears decide for you. There is no special scientific formula behind the choice. Just go with what you like the sound of. Please don't just take my word for it. My opinion is only one of many. Other audiophiles may well have totally different tastes. Check the products out yourself and see if you remain with the afore mentioned ones or you settle on something else.

whoa thx man, i really like the look of the morels, arnt they leaning more towards the sq side of things? i to alot of drum and bass, dance, hip hop, and hardcore (borderline metal, not the dance type) so yeh, if that narrows it down some more that would be awsome, thanks guys

Talk to s_tim_u_late about Morels. He loves em.
I have the Morel Pulse 6 up the front and am very happy with them! The Elate look like they could cope with a bit more bass and power though.
They have my vote!

I really like the Hertz stuff if you want it L.O.U.D.........while not as accurate as some of the speakers that Marty listed (Eton, Focal, and the Dyns especially), they certainly are suited to the music types you list.
I actually have the Hertz HSK-163's on my shopping list (3-way set) along with a pair of those new HXS-300 12" subs....Marty has one of those HXS's subs ex-demo for a good price, I know one person who 'borrowed' it for a few days and was blown away by the SPL and SQ of the bass for the money. I need to buy a few little bits of Marty before I can start saving for them however.
Not only but also, these Hertz units will do a big SQ turd on your current speakers. The only difference with the higher models is the refinement of the sound. Another $150 spent puts you into SQ territory big time.
The cheaper Morels are nice. Didn't mind them, very easy to listen to but didn't put the smile on my face like the Hertz.
Phass and Vibe are two you should look at, along with the Bostons. A good selection of balanced setups, good volume, good quality sound. Diamond is also woth a look,
Have not heard the DD components yet, but now I am going to go looking for an install for a listen. Knowing what their subs are built like, I think they would be able to take a bit more power than most, and get mighty loud.
Oz Audio aren't really well known in this country, although they do make good stuff. I have heard the Vector V650S3 and I could definitely live with them.
Marty makes the best point of all - get out and listen to them. Don't just buy a brand, actually listen to them and know how they sound. If you get a big smile on your face like I did with those Hertz 163's, then you know you have found the set you want.
While I can't tell you who to buy your speakers from, FHRX studios will always look after you. It mightnt be the cheapest deal, but it will be bloody close. Marty more than makes up for it by giving you his time, knowledge and opinion freely.
