Hello all,

I am after a new head unit about the price range of $500.00 to $800.00

Its gotta have 3 pre outs i think?? preferably over 4V and play mp3

I have no idea whats good, but it gotta be able to run the following:

alpine 5 channel amp
2 type r 12'' subs
alpine spx 177a front splits
alpine 6x9

Everywhere I call tells me something different

Was hoping to stick with alpine but is there something better out there for the $$$$

Thanks

Shane

p.s i am a complete noob when it comes to car audio:cry:

How about a Pioneer DEH-P7750MP (http://www.pioneeraus.com.au/car_entertainment/cdtuners/dehp7750mp/index.html)? We have a lot of success with those decks.

You'll have to ring around, but i think they retail in the 800ish area :) Other than that, you could go for the CD300, they're only about 500 bcuks and have 5v pre out and loads of other features too. Check them out at www.eclipse-web.com

I have an older eclipse unit (CD5435 - last years model) with 5v preout and the sound is great :)
