this is a problem that has only just reared its head in the last 2 weeks or so...

whenever i turn right, either at 3/4 lock or full lock (not in between) my power steering makes a loud whirring/whinging noise..

I know you;re not supposed to use full lock, but it never made the noise before when doing this, and it still makes the noise at 3/4 lock, so i want it fixed

my power steering fluid levels are fine.

anyone know what would be causing this or how to fix it?

thanks

- Craig

Maybe there's some air in the line?

Start the car, take the cap off the power steering fluid tank (It wont spill dont worry), then turn your steering wheel from lock to lock without actually hitting full lock a few times. Then check your fluid level...if you have air in the line you'll find the level has dropped...add some more fluid up to the marker and then repeat until the level doesnt drop.

That's how you bleed your power steering line :) Hope that helps!

thanks for the info, will keep in mind:P

all fixed now though...was just wheel rubbing..so very relieved because i wouldnt be able to afford to replace anything if it died...junior full time wages suck.
