I was driving home last night and around the first corner the car made an awful noise and i started to worry what it was, it sounded like something pissing out, so i looked temperature was fine, not coolant, wasnt oil and then i came to a corner. I tried to turn the steering wheel and what do ya know power steering died. After wrestling the car home i checked the fluid, it was fine? checked the hoses, they are fine, checked the pump, its fine. I took a look at the belt, it was loose, i took a closer look, the adjusting bracket for tesioning the belt, the one attached to the alternator SNAPPED.

I was like what the ****? I sent it to the mechanic to do, cost me $50 but i didnt care because i couldnt be ****ed doing it.

Im just wondering if anyone has ever had this happen to them or if this is just one weird problem.

the only sign of it happening was when the bracket snapped and started rattling and the belt sliding.

 !!Update!!

now that i got my car back, its not completely fixed. Power steering is fine, but on hard lock the front left corner of my car makes that sound it made when the bracket broke. The sound is the belt slipping, so i just have to tension it a little bit.

Warning to all people, expect the completely random
