Not sure how easy that is to do with the door trim still on because of the wiring loom that plugs in to the power window switches. If you can be bothered taking the door trim piece off it's then dead easy to push the switch panel out.

I'd imagine levering it out carefully with a screwdriver would do the trick.

You'd have to be very careful - that plastic is quite soft. Also, I can't remember off hand if there are any clips involved.

I'm just thinking back to the way I used to remove the power window panel from my old Cressida and Corolla. They were simply clipped in at either end. A screw driver slid under one end would pop them out. Then it's just case of unplugging the loom. I can only assume that it would be a similar method for the maggie.
That said, it wouldn't hurt to use a cloth to prevent possible damage to the plastic.:D
What about the switches?? dont really want to paint them... only want to paint the plastic frame bit.

Well you could masking tape the switches and paint around them or once the power window unit is removed from the door trim, disassemble the unit and remove the switches. I did this in my Cressida once as the contacts were dirty which prevented the window from working and it was a fiddly job. The reason being that each switch had two little metal contacts (one for up and one for down) which needed a clean. As soon as I opened the unit up, most of them fell out onto the ground.. If the Magna unit is a similar design, just be careful you don't lose any of these contacts.

Very easily done mate, I can actually use my fingers to get the window switch panel up. Don't need to take off the whole door panel at all. Then just diconnect the loom - theres little clips you push in on one side of the plug, then wiggles out.
Switches come off very easy aswell - did it the other day to give mine a clean. Just screws in at the bottom, two screws from memory. Undo those with a screw driver and you've got the one piece plastic plate that sits there.
I dont suggest painting those with a paintbrush... you'll get a streaky effect. Do it with spray gun if you have one. I'd suggest a clear coat to go on after it too to seal them, as the drivers side window switch especially gets alot of wear.
thats why im doing it, the original paint has gone down to the brown plastic that they used.. so I thought, i might just paint them with my car colour code.
Sorry to take this off topic.. does the TE's had lights in the drivers side window switches like the TJ does?
