Im so sick of my car, i got a new ecu about 3 weeks ago and now it is stuffed again had to get the car towed home. Hopefully i can get it fixed today because this is unbelivably annoying definantly making me think of getting rid of this car. Even tho i love it like my own child, this is getting to be way 2 annoying. /rant

Sounds like you have an electrical problem.

what kind of an electrical problem? like voltage surges to the ecu or something like that?

IF the ecu is being fried, you are getting surges through your electrical system.

Check to make sure all your fuses are the proper ratings. (ie a 30 in a 10 slot)

What has changed since you had the car? Have you put a stereo in? subs, amps? etc etc.

Work backwards and remove these things first off before taking it to a sparky to look at.

I had an issue with Jo's TR where everytime i turned the lights on it blew a fuse. Turns out one of the wires from the headunit wasnt connected properly.

nah when it first started happening there was nothing in the car, eg no stereo etc, all ive put in is a headunit, i might go check all the fuses actually

Fuse size will not generally cause a problem.

Are you sure it is your ECU this time and not your fuel pump relay?

If you have a situation where you are getting too much power from the alt this can cause havoc.

Was the new ECU "new" or second hand. If not a reco it may simply be that the capacitor has crapped itself like your old one most likely did.

There is a guy wrecking a complete KR on ebay, may be abel to get the ecu cheap from him.

dont know if this is any help, but with my old verada i had a problem with the ecu i would be driving and the car would turn off, it was kinda weird just driving along and then the car was off with now power steering and stopping power going away. but anyway went in had it looked at and they said something was leaking onto the ecu or some part of it and turning it off, they fixed it and never happen again
