Well today i finally found my new car!
2002 series II TJ Magna.
It's red, same red as the ralliart (called flame red is it?).
51,000 kms.
$12,500 drive away with my Tr as trade in (taken all the good stuff out of it, 300k kms so it wasn't worth much).
Drives very well and the tiptronic...omg so fun!
I've attached some pics of my new baby, poor quality from the dealers website unfortunately. When i pick the car up next weekend and put my rims on it, i'll post some better pics :D.
What do you guys think?
I love it :D.

Colour looks the same as mine :)

Nice car, one word of advice...don't leave it in the sun. My paint has gone crap due to 14 months in the sun at my dads.

:) Yeh i know what you mean. My TR did the same, will definately look after the paint alot better with this car.

I dont think i'll be modding this car for awhile, but the main things i want to do are:
Colour coding
Lowering
Rims (whacking the XR6 ones on there, but they need new tyres.)
And sports muffler.

Nah i sold my 16 inch KH verada rims (well pending payment). The XR6 rims were for my new car all along, just whacked them on the TR to see what they would look like.

I know what you're saying about the paint, looks pretty bad in the photo's as the image is poor quality, but i assure you that in real life it looks like new. Will get better photos up next weekend. Might have to organise a mini meet hehehe.
Yeh stereo is going into the new car, my TR is basically being sent off to the wreckers, so i'm grabbing all the good bits i can off it.

Wouldn't they be sending the TR off to an auction? When I was getting a quote to tarde-in my old TE on the Sports they told me that they would send it away to the auctions and that most yards do that these days with older models that are hard to sell.

By the way the new car looks nice can't wait to see the rims on and lowered.

Yup no dodgy back yard jobs on this car thats for sure!

Dont worry guys, no wings :P. Keeping it sleek this time.
Well the 2 main things i'm getting done in the next few weeks will be the rims (just need 2 new tyres which i'll get this week and whack them on when i get the car saturday and lowering.
Those are the 2 things i want to do first :D.

Thanks for the comments guys, cant wait to bring it to it's first cruise.

Well done mate.

This is your 2nd car.. So dont make any mistakes like you did on your first car..

IE: back yard 2 toning your car, painting wings etc etc.

Keep it a quality peice of machinery.

O and if you are going to a do boot install, call on some of the guys from here with a bit of experience to help you out.. The TR boot install was.... not the best..

then again, the wing was'nt meant for the TR, so i guess thats why he did a backyard job. just so he "knew" what it looked like.

I'd be in for helping you put in a new stereo:D

Words of wisdom there mate! As TuffTR said i had plans on buying a TE/TF back when i first bought the wing, but now i'm going more the sleek look (could say i'm over the whole spoiler thing, might get a vrx spoiler if i come accross one cheap).
Yup i've been thinking of doing a full on boot install with false walls, nice material etc.

I'm more going for things that i can reverse if need be, like rims, springs, audio. Not exactly sure about the colour coding yet, but if i do get it done, it'll be done professionally. No idea how much it'll cost to get done though.

What are some of the mods other TJ owners have done that you highly recommend?

Is it much louder than stock? I want a nice exhaust sound, but nothing loud.

Still trying to think of one. I'm getting custom plates soon, so will probably change my name to that.
Plates are: M4DDOG.
What ya reckon, M4DDOG or M4DDOG MAGNA as my user name?
Still trying to decide.

Sif there was anything wrong with my TR boot install:

LMAO. Been flicking through the pages in the boot install thread, some very good ideas in there. Whatever i end up doing is going to take ALOT of designing.

A bit off topic, but my older bro was telling me that the next car he gets (looking at 6.0L SS, Liberty GT among others) he is considering getting a sticker made up for it, reading "Personalised plates are gay!" lol

It is worse up here though, $2200 for the prestige plates!! waste of money

Yep it's a Series 2 Executive. All base Executives/ES' up to TW had black mirrors and body-side strips.

But it looks nice!:D

If your Magna is an 'Advance' then that explains your colour coded mirrors but the door strips on the Advance's should still be grey.

Having said that, mine's an Executive which should also have grey door strips but they came factory colour coded.

Series II Execs should only have black mirrors and grey side strips too, so yeah your lucky to have it all colour coded. I think the only TJ's to have standard colour coded door strips were the Solara's, Sports and VRX's.

Oh and i love it when you plant it, and the car feels like it stops for a split second (while it downshifts) and then you get launched forward, it's awesome!

Yes the pinstripes came with the car when i bought it. yes i'm keeping them, when i get the bottom half of the car colour coded/kitted it'll help seperate the red abit, and i reckon it looks good :).
They are "something" series 1 XR6 rims, not sure on model though sorry. Bain will be able to tell you for sure.
