Are all the 2nd Gen models floor consoles the same? I'm looking at getting a TS Grill, i'm just wondering if the TS Floor console is different to the TR's

Yeah that's sort of what i'm after. I think I'll wait and see what my console looks like after I paint it. Btw [TUFFTR] I went repco, couldn't find the brand of seat covers you said, so I got a diff brand, white. It fits the back/top ok, but the bottom is too big, it's a ***** think I might need to take the seat off.

True, I would have gone wreckers and got one cheaper, then again I need something that's fairly unscaved, my current console has cuts and everything else under the sun done to it.

I went to my local wreckers today, they had 5 TR's and about 8 TS's, just my luck though, all the grills had been taken :( and as for the consoles, there were a few decent ones, but all for Automatic TS's >.< I might go have a look at some more wreckers tommorow, as I really want a TS Grill :D
As for fitting a 6pack in the centre console, I didn't think one would fit in regardless, might try it :D

Errr, the Console mold for the Automatics is different, to the manual mold, it would look crap. Thanks for the great reply though...:bowrofl:

yeah, I know but don't the TS Consoles have a slightly diffirent cut for the Auto Box? Looked like it to me when I saw a few. Might be wrong, but there wasn't any need for his rudness.

As Mad Magna said the black plastic that surrounds the gear stick and the ashtray will swap over between auto and manual consoles.
The problem is that this part and the console body are different between no lid and lid type consoles.
Lid type console is taller (without lid) and the bucket is also deeper and can be easily removed from the console.
I had a TR years ago where the black panel from a manual no lid console was modified to fit a lid type console, the fold down lip on the bucket end had to be cut off, then it was flat and should have been curved so once fitted in the console body it didn't sit properly and cracked near the ash tray when it was screwed down, on top of all this the screw holes under the ashtray won't align with the bracket on the tunnel.
Clean manual consoles with a lid can be hard to find in certain colours.
From what I have seen only TR executives and GLX had no console lid.

It amazes me that you have been in this forum for 2 minutes but you know all.
The black plastic part is removable, The console itself is identical, it was also originally sold by Mitsubishi as a seperate part.
The bucket console was avail in the TR SE, Elite, the KR ei and the KR XI (had cloth over the arm rest.
The TS also had the bucket console.
You can get the black plastic part from the non bucket console and fit it to the bucket console, I have done this for several people.

I never said I knew all, all I was going by was the apperance of the console's from about 1 metre away, I didn't check the whole thing out, if I did, then I would have known. Regardless I think i'm just going to stick with my current floor console, it'll be too much of a hassle color co-ordinating.
