Quick question:

getting auto box on GenIII TH serviced today. I checked what oil the bloke uses and it's Pennzoil ATF 95LE. He says he is aware that DexronIII roots Magna 'boxes and that this stuff is OK. A quick google shows some places saying it is fine and others say it is only for Fords.

Any comments?

genearally i found genuine oil is cheaper and the best...and correct!

Go genuine for trans fluid, it is not expensive and it is right

100% correct with the use of genuine mitsu auto oil.. it's less than 30 bucks for 5 litres, and is the ONLY oil mitsubishi will ever advise to be used on the transmission for a 3rd gen!
even though the oil is made by BP, it is made to mitsubishi specs.. meaning, it contains certain additives, friction modifiers, etc that only they can have, not castrol, penzoil, and so on!

Now that the wrong oil is in the 'box, should I get them to just change it or flush and change it?

I can say that the 'box is working better with the new fluid. Changes are more positive but certainly not harsh. The car seems more refined but that may be that the front tyres now have tread on them!

Could be because the old oil was pretty stuffed so the car is liking the new stuff even tho its wrong, if you change it over to the correct oil might feel even better :)
