if i can get hold of the awd diamante as in a full cut could i just put the transfer case/gearbox onto the 2.6ltr astron. and i know suspension would need to be altered for the rear but if i had the full cut i could do it over time. what i need to know is how much do you think the diamante awd would cost and would i have to get an engineering cert as it was a factory option in japan? if i did need the eng cert how much would it cost.

Did the AWD diamante even come out with a 2.6L?
Did the AWD diamante even come out with a 2.6L? Jap Diamantes
never had the 2.6 astron. That was our engine. They had the SOHC v6 from 1985 in their
galants which became the diamantes

Which means he's got pretty much zero chance of putting the AWD into his car without transplanting the engine as well.

In case you think the 4 means 4cyl, it stands for 4wd like the galant vr4. They may have
4 cylinder engines but it ain't the 2.6 astron or astron II.

No VR4 diamante. VR4 denoted 4 wheel drive and turbo. It was the top of the line performance model.
There are 2.5l V6 awd diamantes, no 4cyl 4wd Diamantes. No 4cyl Diamante's at all...unless someone mistakenly calls a Magna, Sigma or V3000(I think these were only V6 too) a Diamante.
I've got **** tins of info on this stuff on my puter at home, hence my first response...Im at work right now (boss is coming...cya lol)

VR4 = 4 Wheel Drive + 4 Wheel Steering + Forced Induction. Nothing to do with motor size as they came in many forms (Galant, 3000gt, Legnum)
