I have brought a of twin piston callipers off a tr verada, now i was wondering would the awd/ralliart pads fit these as they would be shaped differently due to having to work with 294mm rotors not 276mm rotors like the tr, and as i am upgrading to 320mm rotors the shape of the awd/ralliart pads i will have more pad contact on the disc.

thanks.

Hey Khorne !

As I posted a reply to your thread last time and you didnt state what model car you had !
So I looked at your public profile and you have a 1999 TH wagon !

I have a 1998 TF 3L auto with variouse boltons including brake mods !

1. Im of the understanding that the TR and TH callipers are "not" interchangable !

2. Unless you use a manufactured bracket, how do you intend to mount the calliper to the fixing holes when you fit the 320mm rotor on the ride as its not a standard application ?

2. You would be better off fitting Ralliart callipers from the Ralliart or AWD and fit the 294mm rotors which are standard on those models and this would be the best brake upgrade you can do as a bolton !

yes, i will be making a braket to mount the caliper. The reason i didn't go with the awd/ralliart brakes is that i couldnt find any in my area and price. TR twin piston calipers cost me $110 for a pair.

Yes KB, I will behave :D

The aluminium part, the caliper itself, is the same, as I have stated previously it is the bracket that is the same, making a plate to mount, unless engineer approved is dangerous and illegal.

I have also previously stated that the slide pin, which is not available anymore for the KS, on my car, has been replaced by the Ralliart pin which is still available and which most mitsubishi dealers use in the case of a KS having to need a replacement.

I have 2 different brake pad books here and the pad listed for the second gen WITH abs is the same as the ralliart and awd????

The 4cyl second gen has rotors that are 20mm smaller, ie 256mm, they run the exact same pad as the v6 which is a 276mm rotor.

This is why the 276mm DB1223 can run on the 294mm ralliart and ABS model.

Now you want to go to 320mm rotors, it will not make a difference on the pad as the caliper is designed to run a particular pad with a particular profile or curve. Again it is the mounting that worries me a lot as I have seen one let go before and it was not a pretty sight.

And either way, as you have stated here and previously you have the TR twin pot calipers, these will not fit your third gen without bracket mods no matter which rotors you use, the bolt holes are further apart on the third gen

I've picked up a front pair of KS verada twin pot Calipers from the wreckers and want to fit them to a TJ magna using a 294mm rotor. The KS mount has 130mm spacing so it wont fit. But I've read conflicting statements about whether the caliper can be use with a different mounting bracket.

Will the KS 2pot caliper fit on an AWD caliper support bracket to use with 294mm Rotor?
