Hey all,
I have a 96 TE 3L V6 auto and recently i put a hole in my sump by clipping a rock, which led to loosing enough oil to stuff my small end bearing. So heres my thoughts:

Get a reconditioned engine
Recondition my current engine
Do a 3.5L conversion (looking into this one, but i need more infomation)

With the car off the road i can afford to modify (<$2000) any of these engines. Now i'm opening this up to you guys/girls on what you would do in my position and state why you would choose it over the other two.

Cheers,
Addict

Being that you have a third gen, i can't imagine a 3.5 conversion shoudl be very hard. as far as i know you haver the same engine bay as the later ones that came with the 3.5? surely

Twin turbo would fit. (just not that engine)

Go for a 3.5, it would fit fine. I'd convert to manual. That would be your best upgrade.

Nah, it would. I was ignoring the use of that engine. So, I meant TTing the engine, my bad.

I'd recon the current engine and do some porting/polishing, and anything else that fits into the budget that make sense to do while the engine is out.
