Is that price good, yeah it is;
does it come form overseas, yes is does;
will it be covered if something happens, no it wont.
How lucky are you? Just we weary of anything from overseas.

Those 6x9's are crap, look at the sony / pioneer etc ones which are under $100 before those or the kenwood offerings. 3way is plenty, look at the frequency response as well, if you dont have a sub try and get ones that play really low, 50Hz is not very low which is all those can go to, even my 6inch splits play to 55Hz :D Marty has some Vibe second hand ones for $100. They will kill any of those.

The short answer is that the Pioneer is good, the Boss should be steered well clear of. :(

No, what he's sayiong is that the product is bought from an overseas importer. I.e. they wont go through pioneer australia to get the product (or whatever company brings pioneeer to the retail chain) thus, you wont have an australian warranty and if anythign goes wrong you hvae to send it back to the country where they bought it from

If you're gonna spend money on speakers, make it worth your while, and make sure they're better than the stock ones. Trial them in store first, or if you know someone who has them already.

The Headunit is a good go! I have the new version (DEH-P6850MP) and it rocks.

Good sound, many features. The inbuilt High Pass filter is handy, especially when used with non-amplified speakers, stock speakers, or when used in conjunction with subs to cover the low-end sound. Make's sure you speakers won't distort when trying to get those low freq bass notes.

Being a previous model, you should be able to find one pretty cheap too.
