It's in my garage :D

It looks as though it will bolt straight in and the gearbox will bolt on.

There's a lot of work to be done to it yet so don't expect to see it in for a while. It'll prolly be a 2 year project.

I've gotta get a full time job first! lol...I've applied at a few places..we'll just wait and see.

Remember this article
http://www.fastmagna.com/feature/feature4_part2.html

This guy thought the DOHC would bolt straight in aswell. He got it in eventually though.

"Well, the engine doesn't "just fit" into the engine bay. The V6 TR gearbox I bought of course went straight in, but the engine mounts were all slightly out, and this involved a lot of effort in making custom brackets."

Might be worth a second read KB now that you have the engine in your garage.

Maybe even a TT Setup after its in it!??!?

He also swapped from a 4 cyl 2.6

So it was never going to bolt in.

I've read that article a lot, and I've emailed him once before. He said that the reason it didnt bolt in was because it was a 2.6 he was going from.

its a bit of a crazy idea and more money blah blah i know but what if we got just a stripped front cut section from a v6 ts, basically just an empty engine bay, then trialed dropping the dohc in it and seeing how it fits, play around with stuff, work things out and get it perfect so when it finally happens it will be a walk in the park for the real conversion. it would be interesting to see how much a piece like this would cost.

Yeah that does sound like a good idea..but the cost would be prohibitive.

Could buy a wreck of a V6 magna but then there's transportation and what to do with it when it's time to get rid of it etc and where does it sit when it's not being used and all that. Our backyard isnt huge and my folks aren't overly keen on my modification ideas lol.
