Hi,
I recently had my TF rear bumper bar replaced by a repairer, after another car drove right into it. AAMI organised the repair, and their customer service is great.
The new bumper is fine, BUT now the muffler is loose, vibrates and semi-violently shakes when the car goes over bumps. When I dropped my car into the AAMI service centre, the bumper was fine - there was definitely no rattles.
When I picked up the car and noticed the shakes, I immediately informed the AAMI service centre. The AAMI mechanic refused to accept that either the repairer had inadvertently caused the muffler shake, or that the muffler loosening was a result of the rear end collision.
My question is two part:
1) Is it common for 3rd gen mufflers to become looser, as a result of a rear-end crumple of the bumper?
2) What are my rights with regards to having AAMI cover the tightening of the muffler? I am not a mechanic and do not know what it involves.
Thanks in advance
