Ok, heres yet another one of my problems.. basically i got a TH, everytime i start my car, seconds later, theres a pretty decent fuel scent that comes out of.. well i dont know, the smell surrounds my whole car. I didnt think it was normal, even once i stop, there is commonly the fuel smell still around my car.. today whilst driving, i turned on my air con and there was a strong fuel smell coming from the vents, but only for a couple seconds, its was in the hills with nothing else around.. we lifted the bonnet after and there was no real smell
so, is this normal?? where could this scent be coming from?? i just dont want my car going up in flames thats all.... The car has been through that recall when they had the problem with the fuel thing, i cant remember what it was exactly, so that 'shouldnt' be a problem.
So yeah, any help, or comments would be very appreciated!!!

I have had the fuel tank replaced twice under warantee for a faulty weld around the filler - check if you are leaking fuel, as this would be a place to start...

Sorry but got to ask. How could you tell the weld had gone? Smell, fuel trace?

Smell, would leak fuel when filled to top, half fill it and you almost never noticed it. Fuel would leak over the rear axle and drip out.
Like anyone can afford to completely fill a fuel tank these days anyway...

Since its taking its time cranking over when im trying to start the car sometimes, could that suggest that im losing fuel pressure somewhere along the way? im not exactly sure how all that works, so i dont know if it could have something to do with the fuel, and that smell.. hope that makes sense
thanks for the tips so far guys, at least i know where to start now! :)

i often get screwed over by mechanics, so i thought id ask on here first for some ideas of the possible problems, then at the very least i know what to expect

Heck...maybe it's your filler cap not sealing proper and allowing pump pressure leakage , hence the fuel vapor escaping.
