Do a search first. But in the mean time, you can only legally go 2" inches above what was
factory fitted.

The largest size rim you can fit legally on a 2nd gen Magna in NSW is 17x7". A few members here have 18's and you may be able to go as high as 19/20" without scrubbing. You'll need and engineer's certificate to be legal above 17x7".

I was running 19" x 8.5" with 245/35/19 rubber, all legal in the ACT :)

EDIT: sorry guys...8.5" not 9.5...woops!!!!

This on a 2nd gen? How is that possible?, would be good info to put in 2nd gen wheels thread.

Well, yesterday....just to test, I got one of my mothers 18" ralli art magna mags and it went on pretty smoothly. only scrubed when i turned fully left...and i guess if i had it on the other side, it'd srub when i turn right. Tried it on the back too.....fit perfectly. So, all i've gotta do it knock a bit of the wall out in the arch in the front.....which is fibre glass anyway, and it'll be sweet. cos the mags im getting are around the same size.

Also, I'll add....I'm not worried about the legal side of things :P just wanted to know the biggest. but doesnt matter.

Oh **** yeah....i forgot to ask. My mate told me that putting 18's on a 91 TR will put the speedo out. any truth behind that?

AL3x has the rim facts up there, so if you want to make SURE its legal or not refer to what he has written or your local RTA

:)

All I can say is DON'T HAVE AN ACCIDENT. ESPECIALLY ONE THAT INVOLVES DEATH OF A THIRD PARTY.

As regards to speedo inaccuracies, 185/75/R14 gives an overall diameter of 633.1. Can't
calculate the overall diameter of the 18s as you did not specify tyre width and profile. But
to calculate it, (2 * width * profile / 100) * (wheel diameter in inches * 25.4). where
width is 185 and prile is 75 and wheel diameter is 14 " for example.
