i was wondering if anyone knew if the speakers in the dash of a Ralliart are the same as the normal 6-speaker models? my TH Altera has some there, but i want to hook up a centre channel, but still has to sound OK, and not really keen on cutting up the dash! i was hoping the ralliart ones are Eclipse too :)

Mitsubishi Part No: MR924828
Nominal Power: 10W
Max Power: 20W
It's actually about a 3" / 7.5cm (paper cone - crap)
I have one right here in front of me from when I upgraded to the new Eclipse 3-way splits (SC8365).
When I do my centre channel I'm hoping to use half a set of Eclipse 5-1/4 3-way splits (SC8355).

so you fitted an eclipse speaker where the standard one goes? sounds like the standard dash speaker is the same as whats in my car anyway. how neat it the fitment?

Invisible, looks same as stock because I wanted to keep it looking factory.

ah excellent. i'd love to find out what you've used, etc and how they're mounted (pics?) as it sounds very similar to what i wanna do!

I'll post some pics up, but wont be until Thursday at the earliest unfortunately.
The install looks asthough the speakers were never changed. Essentially we covered the new speaker with a suitable colour grille cloth (grey) and simply dropped them in. They appear slightly more dome shaped than the originals but not so much that you'd notice.

no worries mate! so how are they mounted there? (sorry bout all the bloody questions!) do they just clip in like the factory ones? or have you used the original covers somehow?

My front left eclipse speaker on my ralliart seems to
be making a lil bit of a rattle sometimes. I took it
twice to the dealer already and it seemed to make a
bit of a difference. Sometimes the sound would cut
out and it would playing at a lower volume than
the other speakers.
Should this be something i should get replaced under
warranty? As i am getting about 4 things replaced
this monday at the dealer.

My mates work at Alberts Car Stereo here in Perth, I believe what they did is cut some mdf discs the same size as the blanks and flush mounted them into the discs then covered them with some speaker grille cloth.
