Race spec are a tuned length design with 1 5/8" primaries. Street spec so called 'shortie' headers, which won't give you many gains at low rpm as the tuned length version. They also only have 1 1/2" primaries (same as pacemaker).

Hi cthulhu !
Sorry mate but am I reading your post right as I was under the impression it was the other way around with the shorter, as in headers gave you the bottom end torque for street and the longer gave you the top end for monster HP speed events ?
I would like to hear back as to which is right ?
Thanks

Nope. Short for high, long for low.

Clif, my sit lowish and I've scaped twice. You shouldn't if you're careful. They also rest up against the alternator and required some gentle persuasion (read: mallet work). Aside from that, they seem fine but didn't see a peak power increase. Mid range was noticeably improved.

i have a 3.0 litre with rpw race extractors and im lowered on lovell superlows, ya gotta be real careful coz they sit very low, big curbs youl have trouble with. the lowest part of my extractors are probly 8cm off the ground hahaha

that said, they made a huge diference to my power like least half a second on the 1/4

Yeah I am looking to improve the top end more then anything, it's got plenty midrange, but dies after 6000rpm, so that's the range I would like to improve the most.

Any suggestions???

If Redav's extractors didn't really increase the top end (and they would flow heaps better then the standard items), I'd say the top end restriction isn't in the exhaust system, so the restriction is somehwere else, maybe cams?

I've come to the conclusion that I've reached the limit of the std mitsubishi cams. I'm making similar power to std Ralliarts - but I can't touch the modded ones (or the non ralliarts with upgraded cams).
