I'd recommend getting a nice alarm for your car before the stereo

Put aside about 400 bucks for a decent one installed :)

www.rhinosecurity.com.au make a good one, the GT is their model that's one under the top one and you'd get that installed for 400 bucks.

yeah ill probably just get central locking or somthing for it ......

though i dont wanna spend to much on it as im buying a 96-97 Lancer and doing it up instead of the magna

i had excatly the same as this, but had it dumped on its ass, $4000 stereo, viper alarm, 17's, and every problem that could possibly go wrong with the engine, so had a pretty much brand new car wen i got rid of it

so how many first gen owners are forum member here ?

I got one. I put remote central locking in it, cruise control and a cd player in it, and ive considered (and am still considering) putting power windows in it, but i really doubt it.

The car comes with eveything else inculding a screwed up bumper bar! It doesnt sit right.

I got a TM SE 5speed

Ive just sorted out all my ignition trouble with it and its never been better


I got extractors, Cd player, 2 10"subs 6 inch splits, 6x 9's

and some red neons for interior lighting.

RCL? Remote Central Locking? I got it from marlows when it existed in Vic, it was on special for $50, got one for dad also. Had it in for aroun 4 months i think, and it hasnt been any trouble yet :)

i have a TM glx 85, 5spd, with stock everything else. haha...
i'm trying to sell it for as much as i have a TF now. hmm but doesn't look like it is going to be sold. sobsob. it is my first car, still goes! no problems with the engine, other than needing a oil change. oh wells.

hey all i have a red 1986 TM SE 5 speed. its all stock but will b gettin a stage 1 cam and a larger carb early in the new year. then a 2.5" straight through will b coming along abit after that.
at the moment it is stock with only a sony head unit in and kenwood 4 way 6x9"s in the rear parcel shelf. i also have blue lights for the interior lighting.

Hey Tim, nice to meet you.

I'm running the system on Avalanche and Audioline amps. I Know, I know, they're no-name and cheapo... but they work... and very well for that matter. I've had absolutely no broblems with them.

If anyone knows of any problems with these amps, let me know.

hey i'm all for no name stuff.

my system at the moment is alpine HU, JVC fronts, alpine 6x9's on custom racks behind the back seats, clarion 12" on a 1000W US Turbo amp and i just bought two 2x75W amps to run the other speakers. they'll go in when i get it back from the mechanic next week (prob be the weekend after and i'll build my new 50L ported box and do the lot at once).
