Hi!
1. Since buying the car (99/00 TH wagon) I have had an annoying squeek when going over bumps and when accelerating hard. Any one had similar?
2. Am getting a rubbing/bearing noise which sounds like its coming from front passenger side. My father in law reckons its actually the rear. I have read some vague mention of possible hand brake issues or a wheel bearing. Whats the deal with the hand brake? Members mention it but thats about it :)
3. Discovered that in the front passenger well, there appears to coolant leaking from somewhere!!! Where is it coming from, does anyone know?? I can't see past all the plastic, and I can't imagine where a coolant pipe/hose would be going near the passenger well.
Thanks for any help!!

For number 3 i had the same problem which was the water pump. I replaced that and it fixed the problem.

Last time I had coolant leaking in the car on the passenger side was in the camry and it was the heater core. Get it checked cause when they go...they GO!

check the hoses that run to the heater in the cabin/firewall. it will probs just be one of these,
the reason yours got fix'd when they did the water pump is that they would have check'd these hoses once they install'd the new water pump.

Most likely to be a heater core and if a 99 magna has done a heater core in the coolant would have to be original, or alternatively it's had tap water put into it because they should live longer than that :( otherwise it could just be a leaking joint going to or from the heater core, either way it's a bit of a mish to get to it - bummer.

Unless you engine has been moved into your glove box then it is not the water pump (perhaps the guy with the motor missing when cold should look there) It will be either hearter core or your heater hose.
Squeak can be suspension bushes or perhaps your rear engine mount, have seen this before

id def be getting that water problem fixed.... and with the front wheel noise.. jack the front of the car up and grab the top and bottom of the wheel and give it a shake.. that will give you a good indication of the condition of your wheel bearings.. No movement is good.. any movement is bad..:D

Thanks for your help people.
I will chase the heater pipe corrosion today. Yeah looks like its going to be fun getting to it. In the interim may cap each end...
FYI - used decent coolant at every service...

ok, the sqeual on accelertion sounds like a loose or worn drive belt.. just change them both, more than likely due for it, and tighten them up nice and tight!
squeak over bumps.. like mentioned before.. possibly a dry or worn rubber suspension bush?!
the water/coolant entering the passenger footwell could very likely be the heater core leaking.. but make sure it is actually coolant and not clean water! if in fact it's clean water, could be leaking through the front windscreen! check the coolant level! in most cases, the rubber "O" rings crap out at the hoses going into the core, causing the leak!
the scrape noise from rear at low speeds is more than likely the handbrake shoes, all 3rd gens had dramas with them! the new ones are improved shoes.. smaller in size and slightly different in design!
good luck mate!

From my experience coolant stinks! What's the verdict, Damon?

AKA the heater core ( http://www.diamanteowners.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3615 ) or actually the O Rings. Don't want that stuff dripping on your ECU and screwing it up to!

as for question 2 mate, is like a wooshing noise? u can really hear it when ur driving in a carpark at low speeds and it comes from the rear drivers side
if its that noise, its ur handbrake boot, very common problem in magnas
either that or your handbrake needs tightening (not in the cabin, u have to remove your rear drivers side wheel to do it)
