I was so frustrated that i wanted to burn it!!!! ( im over it now)

i had to wait for a bout 10 minutes before it (must be a she) wanted to start.

how do i bypass the kill circuit and or where do or how do i fix the barrel antenna and where do i find it.

wtf is this

?????????????

Ok ill spell it out.

1996 Magna
I take it for a drive, switch it off, then it wont start.
It does turn over..

Wont start.

8 times out of ten, it will start with this combination,

take key out, with the key fob, lock then unlock, put key in, ignition on, wait for engine light to go out then start. As i said wont work all the time.

Some said its the barrel antenna, some said its the kill system

where is the barrel antenna, and/or how do i bypass the kill
Might stick the Cleveland in it LOL (thats a Ford V8 MagnaFan101)

It's very difficult to diagnose such a problem which could be caused by a wide variety of things.

Has a mechanic taken a look at it?
Do you know whether the fuel delivery is fine? Do you smell petrol in the cylinders (take a spark plug out).
Are the spark plugs fine? Are they generating sparks?
The distributor isn't dead?
Crank angle sensor dead?

It could even be entirely an electrical fault. Do you have any problems with other electrical components, like interior or exterior lights not turning on?

As you can see, the list goes on and on....

Take it to a dealer service center...

probably wont be cheap but at least it will fix the problem

check basic electrics. check the voltage of your battery when its running. should be 13.8 or there abouts. if its around 12 with the engine runnin, you may need to have your alternator looked at.

Try re-seating the ECU connector that links to the immobiliser control unit.

I had issues with my TJ stalling immediately after starting, and eventually tracked it down to being a bad connection between the ECU and immobiliser control unit.

See this thread (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9208&page=6) for more details.

Cheers,
Martin.

Plugs, doubt it
Crank angle sensor, maybe,... ive had one that wouldnt play when the car was hot (on a commodore)
Distributor/coil may have a temperature issue.

Sorta seems like an immobiliser issue

check out the tech section, where you can read about unplugging and reconnecting the key ring antenna to help with diagnosing "no start" faults!

good luck
