Guys how the heck do you remove the front speakers in a 3rd gen? I've tried prying the cover open and it wont budge. Do i have to go from behind and take the whole trim off?
Havn't even tried 6x9 yet, is there a trick to them too?

cover is part of the door :D

There're 3 screws. One inside the armrest. One in the front part where the air passes through and one behind the door handle.
The rear speakers are probably harder, and you definitely need the right tools for that, ie. short screwdriver and pliers.

ok found the 3 screws but cant get the clip out, i've given up lol.
Does anyone know any good places that will install car audio?
I need to put in 6", 6x9" and run power cables from the battery to the boot.
I've done the HU and RCA/front speaker wires through to the boot.
u slack bastard, its not that hard.
there's a big rubber grommet on the passenger side in the 3rd gens that makes it a piece of piss to run a power cable. then just run it in the channels under the carpet along the doors, then under the backseat.
doortrim in the TR isnt hard, and this one is even easier. 6x9's easy as.
Just do it yourself.

Cheers for that mate (and the info on msn). I'll have a good nights sleep tonight and tackle this head on tomorrow, hopefully tim comes to the meet today and can walk me through it :D.
Yeh by hard i mean time consuming (first TR trim took me 2 hours to get off, 2nd one took me 15 mins LOL).
I might have to investigate into some spacers too, if it's true that the stock speakers are very shallow.

Ahh.. The power cable from the battery isnt that bad, I done an AMP install yesterday
(Allbeit I did work at a car stereo shop for 3 years) :)
Find the hole in the fire wall, poke the power cable in the hole it should poke out inside the car around your feat on the drivers side.
Remove center cd holer / arm rest piece. You will need to do this so you can run the cables under it. You will see a spot that you can run the wires under the carpet so push your power cable / RCA / AMP trigger under the carpet towards the boot.
Remover rear seats then push cables towards boot.
Done.

Just remember to run the power cable down the opposite side of the car to the rca's dont run them next to each other.

You'll enjoy doing your 6x9's, I ended up a very frustrated man while trying to get the stocks out - though once the screws are out (and you've lost a few to the cars innerds), and you get the new speakers in place, its not all that hard.

Hmmm i've run the RCA's on the left hand side, where the battery happens to be, grrrr.
lol anyway i've decided to do this 1 thing at a time. I've replaced the 6x9's, that was pretty easy (i have a screwdriver set that is a Z shape :D).
So all i have to do now is replace 6" speakers and run the power cables.
Will attempt the power cables tomorrow night probably.
Would it be ok to run the power cables down the middle of the car?

They sound better than stock (although stock were ok for stock speakers). They're only running off the headunit temporarily until i get the power cables through to the boot so i can hook up my amps :D.
