PULP is a wast of money
they did a story on it on ACA a couple of weeks ago

fair enough, all i was asking was if you use it or not, how long to get a reply 10 hrs:nuts:
i run Premium always, i have to. coz i've advanced my ignition timing. car runs ****loads better, + i average 600km's from a tank now.

thats for some cars, gathering info about the 2nd gens on AMC is that they run better becuase of a "knock sensor"
i have no idea what this does so im not gonna make myself out to
even if you have a look in the users manual, the TR V6 gains an extra 3Kw by running PULP

money might be better spent buying more cheaper fuel...
Do you want to save money
Do you want more distance out of each tank irrespective of cost
Do you want more performance

more distance of each tank
more perfornace
more distance of each tank
more perfornace
You cant have both.
More performance = more burning of fuel = lower range out of tank.
You want 1 or the other.. Not both.

if u drive sensibly then pulp will get u further. if u want performance then pulp will also give u that. i can notice a big difference when giving it a boot full :P

On ACA they said 95RON is the longest lasting distance wise, I thought 98 would be, but its peoples own choice at the end of the day.
Because i like ya's, and only because i like ya's i scanned in this article from pages 62 and 63 of the march 2006 royal auto (RACV members magazine).
It compares 2 cars (i know they arent second gens, but still), one with a knock sensor, one without, it gives 0 - 100 performance and most importantly cents per k.
Here it is (around 240k) (http://home.wilddsl.net.au/meph/petrol.jpg)
As it states it does not take into the comparison the engine cleaning abilities of these petrols.

Bizarre how 95 RON improved everything more than 98 RON did?
well i guess the higher the RON is the harder it is for the petrol to detonate, and when you get as high as 98 ron the difficulty for it to detonate starts to eat into the gains it would provide.

I use 98 RON in my 2nd gen and the response is one i like and havent had many mechanical problems, so i stick to it, cost does not worry me.
