$1500 is not a bad budget.

Do you intend on amping your front and rear speakers, or just the fronts or not amping any of them, just the sub?

Below is a rough guide for a system to suit your budget, though this has been covered many many times before! This is assuming you are amping you fronts and sub with rears running off the headunit.

Font $300
Amp (4x100W) $300
Back $150
Sub and box $300
Cables (RCA, power etc) $150 (approx)

That leaves you $300 for installation (no idea how much that costs as i did all mine myself). Or you could buy another amp or better speakers, up to you. Or spend it on deadening if you get some decent front splits, though people have varying opinions how effective this is at normal listening levels.

Cheers
Pete

if your tyreshine thread is anything to go by, I would be getting someone else to install the system.

Seeing as you're seated at the front and your ears face forwards I would leave the rear speakers factory for now. The only time we bother upgrading the rear speakers is if you either A; have people in the rear all the time or B; run surround sound. Most shops would love to sell you another set but you really do not need to upgrade them.:D
