Ive had this problem for as long as ive had the car, and i dont know why i never got it fixed earlier. especially since i have been forking out lots of cash on mods in the past. Now this is the problem the handle comes off and i have to put it back on all the time. It doesn't wind up properly it clicks over the winder thing, very annoying. Anyone have any suggestions where to take it or what to do. And how much would this probably cost.

It sounds like the retaining clip is missing.

This is probably because it's not seated properly on the shaft.

Either go to Mitsu for a new retaining clip, or pick one up from the wreckers (note that I'm assuming the inside of the winder handle isn't too damaged, and can be re-used).

Cheers,
Martin.

A windscreen winder, that must be an option I have not heard of on a Magna, I was not aware that the windscreen wound down.....

If you are talking about a window winder, check the c clip on the back of the handle, also check the handle is not broken or damaged

Hey Pat !
comon problem as mine did the same as I would be always finding it hard to wind up the window and it actualy turned out the wire rope to the window winder atachmant inside the door was frayed and getting caught around the pullies and thus having me to excert extra preasure when winding the window up therefore over stressing the plastic handle and causing the bloody thing  to come off in my hand or drop on the floor !
I too had the problem from when I got the car at 45,000ks and replaced it only 6months ago so when you take it in get them to look at the winder mechinism also !
The window winder handle and clip should not be more than $10-$20 dollars and the sales person can explain how to easly fit it !
