Hey Guys

i washed the car on the weekend. I went inside to check something i came out and the car was dead i was using the stereo while i washed the car.. I left it there all sunday and on monday i went to super cheap and got some jumpers. Tried to jump start it no help there. I then thought it was a dead battery so back to supercheap for a new battery got a bosch battery for $104.00 I then took it home connected it up and thank god it started.

revved the car let it run for a long time then turned it off. Went back about half an hour later to start it again it was dead. I cant remember getting the battery light at all and it so weird it like something draining the power.

i thought it might be the alarm or the amp. What do you guys think any help.

Not good when your trying to sell your car.

I'd be doing a current reading on the battery to see if its drawing current with everything turned off. You may have got water in something that is shorting out. If she is drawing current start pulling fuses til it stops and that will tell you what circuit the problem is on.:D

here's a little something i found... i doubt this is it due to how quickly the battery is dying but.. if u can... with everything off... and with out opening the boot look in through the back seats (fold down bit in the middle) and see if the light is still on in there...

i had it happen to me in my TN and i couldn't figure out why the battery kept dying even after i had put a new battery in ....

thanks for the help guys. i can home tonight and a friend put a volt meter across the battery and the terminals there was voltage there but not enough. then he realised that the terminals where not making proper contact with the battery.

this was due to the stuff they spray onto the terminals when they do a service. i think its to stop corrosion. so he just sanded it back and with the turn of the key the engine started to per again.

the orginal prob was a dead battery. but i should have sanded all the stuff of the terminals before hooking up the new battery. Im learning slowly.

thanks again for the help and the wealth of knowledge
