so this morning when i try to start my car the battery is dead so my neighbour came up with his battery pack thing and got it started. after work i went and got a new battery put it in. now the computer has reset itself and it gives me some choices when i start it up for the first time between 3.0L and 3.5L and something else which i don't know what it is. i can set it to either 5 or something that looks like an L and another L facing inwards like this:...

anyway i assumed 5 meant 5 speed and the other thing meant auto but before this thought occured to me i set it to 5. now i have it set to the other thing (my car is auto). but here's the problem - when it changes gear from 1st to 2nd it's fine, but when it changes from 2nd to 3rd and also 3rd to 4th it gets to the usual revs that it should change at and then it feels like its going to change but it revs another 200 - 300 revs and THEN changes gear.

Also when I floor it it will go to about 6700rpm when 6000 is its redline. what the flip is goin on here?

heh... ok i just realised that the 5 is actually an S (sedan) and the funny lookin thing is a W (wagon) so i'm going now to put it back to S. it still had the same problem the first time when i had it set to S but it was to a lesser extent.

just drive it around fo a bit, it might be the ecu reverted back to "granny driving". Just let the ecu pick up your drving style.
