I got rear ended today on my way home from work. I was travelling on Burwood Road, Burwood, in heavy traffic. It'd been stop/start for about a km, until we got rolling pretty easily to the next set of lights, where I stopped about a metre behind a Peugot 307. I wasn't really watching the mirror, when all of a sudden, whack. I smacked my head on the steering wheel, and the car was pushed forward about 1/2 foot. I looked up in the mirror, and there's a silver TH Exec lodged in my bumper.
I kind of think I came off better.
The TH's bonnet is folded up, the headlights and blinkers don't work, the bumper is cracked and pushed back. My rear bumper was slightly discoloured, and pushed down and slightly inwards. No panel damage, tailgate opens fine.
I guess the car gods aren't ready to smite my wagon just yet...
On a better note, I've put KE Verada 16s on (thankyou TR-Envy), a Whiteline Strut Brace, Ferodo Heavy Duty pads (front) and RDA Slotted Discs (front).
eyyyy, another wagon with those rims!! :D
looks good on the 2nd gens eh? oh and photos just dont do justice... hard luck on the little accident, at least nothing is badly damaged eh?

Thanks dude, they're exactly the same rims as on my brother's KE wagon, but they look so much cooler on mine.
I'm actually glad that the accident was so minor, anything more serious and I think they would've written her off.
After today, I can't emphasise enough on leaving a safe distance between you and the guy in front.

Rims look great :D, glad they made it to you in one piece :).
Sorry to hear about the accident though, hope it's not a curse or something (i got rear ended awhile ago, could be around the same time i put those rims on ).
In case you've been trying to pm me, this is my new username :).

Veradabeast...
you will actually be suprised at the damage it did do..
underneath that plastic bit is a metal bumper.. which is now most likely stuffed...
i remember when my little bro.... drove my mum's car into the back of mine... barely a nudge and you should have seen the Metal bar inside.. bent bad...mind u the actual plastic part keeps its shape extremely well...
i didn't even know untill i pulled it off to do a spray job on it.... :(

ADZA27, you were exactly right. I went down to my local smash repairer for a quote, and he said that the tailgate has been twisted, the right quarter panel has been pushed forward, and all the reinforcing underneath is completely squashed.
Estimated cost: $1200, probably more.

Ahh well, hope the TH that hit you is well insured!
(that and I hope you got all their details)

Update: I've spoken to the guy that hit me, and it turns out that he's just bought the car from his parents, and it's uninsured. Wonderful.

Yay, now you have to decide whether legal action is worth the $1200..

what about you ?? are you insured??
if you are just put it through your insurance company
and because it was the other dudes fault and you
have his details it wont cost you a cent.

YaY im not the only one who gets run into by un insured cars... Last wednesday a senior citizen decided to give me a decal on the side of my car... 450 ish worth of damage to my door :doubt: he had no insurance either... the one thing that has enraged me the most is he said to me "I would LIKE to pay SOME of the damages"...
Is it me or is there something wrong with that sentence?... then when we told him the prices of what its going to cost to repair it he said... "I have no money"
no offence to anyone who doesnt believe in insurance but.... DONT DRIVE UNLESS YOU HAVE INSURANCE!! or you will invoke my wrath

I've got full comprehensive, so it looks like I'll have to claim through mine for a repair and let them hang him upside down...

Hope you guys read the FINE PRINT in your comprehensive insurance, especially
the bit which states your car's panels has to be free of unrepaired damage.
If you decide not to repair your minor dings etc on your car, should you be unlucky
to get into a bigger bingle in the future your insurance coy could easily refuse to
cover the new damage by citing pre-existing unrepaired damage.
So basically you're not covered.
