For all those who have TL/TW's I was just wondering how many would be geniunley
interested in a full body kit. Before everyone asks for pics I'm still putting the finishing
touches to it and are weighing up wether to take a good mould off it ( the plug ) or not.
Any feedback would be appreciated. BMS :)

how u going about making the mould of the first bodykit, would u be interested in making some for older magnas, such as 2nd gens, i have some sketches on here somewhere which i am eventually going to get going, but it will take a while, if your interested PM me,
BTW everyone out there wondering how the 3rd gen designs are going, very slowly, i have had family problems as of late, will get back onto them asap.
Its good to hear of more people making bodykits for magnas, regardless of what model it is, i'd be interested, but i have a TR

A little off topic, but do you guys still do the bodykit for a TE-TJ?

I would be interested in a more agressive front bar at the least. Of course it depends on what it looks like.

I made a slight change to the rear bar i think it looks abit better.
i simply got rid of that insert faux diffuser type arrangment.
and continued the lines from the sides.
oh and colour corrected and de badged i couldnt help myself.

Very nice! How do you plan to round off the top corners of the headlights, does this mean replacing the front quarter panels too?
Edit... looks like theres some kind of cover or addition to front quarter. In my opinion that black extension of the headlight looks a little tacky but I like the effect, you just need a nicer way to achieve it. Reshaping the headlights on TL/TW's would have sold more for Mitsubishi in the first place, glad you're doing it now :)
Rest of the kit looks great as well.

i dont like the black headlight extensions next to the grille. Its the only part of the whole bodykit that looks quite obviously "bolt on" for lack of a better term. I think the front would look alot better without it. Also black mesh would look better in the lower air intake to match the grille. Using two different types of mesh looks like a bit of a mix and match, and if you used chrome for the grille it would look too "fulli-sick"
otherwise its a nice, non-over the top bodykit. Would i be right in suggesting that some inspiration was taken from the north american mitsubishi exclipse? The old model not the new one?

i like Mr Bishi's chop of the rear, for some reason the rear cutout section does look a little tacky, and this is my take on the front end: just a couple of little mods, but i really like it

i could only find some standard lights that would work right, i hope i got them the right size!
although, against the white, black colourcoded ones would look sweet!

yeah probably why i think it actually looks better with the stock "ugly" headlights... they do look much better when combined with a larger front bar thats for sure!!

I like what Asylym has done with the front and this is very easy to do
and could be made as an option if we go ahead with this kit. I was
wondering whether to paint out the air intake as I figured it would look
pretty good. Tried painting the mesh black and it looked :doubt: so
took it back to chrome, but painted out no probs
To answer Nathans question yes the air intake could be incorporated
into the TE/TJ no probs.
Hey Asylym could you do your chop but leave the headlights as per
mine. It's amazing some of you guys have picked on the painted bits
for the headlight ext as when people see it in real life it dosen't bother
them and most comments are very positive
As for price don't know as yet but most likely around the $1650
Lastly can someone please colour the insert in the rear skirt in
silver in keeping with the rims. Thanks :)

The R/bar does look alot softer in the flesh .
The dgi camera tends to make edges look
harder than they are.

I don't know if the VR or VRX fog lights would fit it wuold be a case of trying.
My plan was to make a cai of the one on the passenger side as I have the 2
little fogs in the main opening
greenmatt
11-04-2006, 08:55 AM
Just do this for CAI, its easier and gives you a shorter intake with less mucking about.
http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16688&highlight=easy+cai
So how is the kit made and when are you going into production? Are you going to have the big opening (aka asylum photos) as an option?

yeah they were a few years early. when they were making this kit the general consensus was the the TL/TW was an ugly and still quite expensive (newest ones being about a year old) car. as such there wasnt much serious demand. if they did the same thing now there would be more, but i suspect still not enough to make an economically viable kit, we are stingey magna drivers after all.
