would i lose any sound/bass through 3 way 6x9 if i run them from amp through crossovers?

also the JVC splits that i have atm are rated at 150w max 40 or 50wrms, would i be able to just replace the woofers with the jaycar kevlars rated at 80wrms and keep the same tweeters and crossovers? this is going to run through an amp

What crossover? Low pass? High pass?
On the amp? through a split system crossover circuit?

Ideally you'd want to highpass them around 80-200 hz. This would keep sub frequencies away from them which they arent designed to play.

You can do a simple 6db / octave slope using 1 capacitor.

Although they arent designed to match the specs of the woofer in mind you wont have any problems.
The tweets will still distort at the same point they used to previously, so it might not gain desired results.

thank you very much for your reply, i will keep it in mind when planning next step of my stereo. is it possible to mix and match without distortion as long as woofers and tweeters are rated at similar power?

yep the weakest link will usually be the cheaper gear though.
