Hi
I posted this ages ago but no response:

Basically the trip computer backlight isn't coming on when the headlights are off. The backlight works fine when headlights are on. I've checked the globes.
Any ideas?
I need to get this fixed urgently as I'm trying to sell the car and stupid small things like this ruin any chance of selling it.
Thanks
Ryan

When you s/w the lights on there is a different power feed to the display which turn the lights on to dim. I would say that you are not getting the ign power to the display to bring it on under normal driving (no headlights).
Check that you get power at pin 2 of the connecter when ign switched on.
Cct of display attached
Good luck

I've checked and it appears there is no power going to Pin 2. What would you suggest I do next?

If no power is going to it, could mean a fuse somewhere has blown. Check all your fuses if you havn't tried that already.

Have checked fuses. None are blown.
How can I check dimmer properly?
It was also suggested that the headlight stalk switch could be at fault, thoughts?

Sounds like headlight stalk switch. If this is the case see if you can feed the 12 volts from another source. Worth a shot so long as it doesnt affect anything else.

I replaced the switch and still the same issue.
