Car is a TS 4cyl.
Starts first time and idles well, trouble is no acceleration.
Hit the throttle and it's like running on "kangaroo petrol"
Trouble started after i gave the engine a "wash", done it B4 many times with no problems, but have had the temp up, so i wud think any water would have evaporated.
Have checked all connections, dissy cap etc, everything looks fine, no water or condenation or corrosion any ideas.
What do ya think I should be looking for/at?

Did you look inside the dissy cap as well? :)

u sure u didn't crack one of the metal components of the engine eg, the block or the heads or something along that line... coz washing a hot engine with cold water has got an expansion/contraction effect, cold water will cause the metal to contract quickly

Engine was "stone cold" when i did it.
There's no "milkiness" in the oil, wouldn't there be, with a cracked head??

I wonder if maybe one of the sensors got water in it and upset the computer. Perhaps a reset (disconnect he battery for a few minutes) would solve it. Make sure you have the security code for ya radio, if applicable.:D

Did that too, made no difference.
No sign of water anywhere.
When i hold the throttle down steady it sounds like am "blipping it" if ya can understand that

I had the exact same thing happen after a wash it turned out to be be very small amount of moisture left on the throttle position sensor contacts, it didnt dry out by itself either, left the connector off for a few minutes , all fixed.
