Ok. This is based on the information for the updated 2007 Galant.
"Safety
Mitsubishi added standard side-curtain airbags to all 2007 Galants. They join the standard front and side-impact airbags offered in the 2006 model to make six standard airbags. The ES, GTS and Ralliart trim levels have antilock brakes, but an electronic stability system, quickly becoming more common in this segment, is not available. "
Ok, if they are going to add to more airbags (curtiain airbags) to the US Galant wouldn't this also be possible here.
Because they are built on the same platform wouldn't any Galant updates also be a cost-effective solution to upgrading the 380 as they wouldn't really need to research/invest that much money to alter it for the 380.
Perhaps MMAL could focus on researching on an available ESP for the 380 (from Bosch, etc.) so they could place it in the vehicle around October this year. This along with an updated dash, reach adjustable steering and curtain airbags could improve peoples perception of the car.
Last point: If the 380 has curtain airbags it could also possibly gain a 5-star crash rating, in which case it could use this as a powerful advertising message to consumers by showing a crash and then stating a fact of crash safety or something?
In conclusion, why don't Mitsubishi do an add like the Sonata's advert as this compares the features (which the car has) to german marques and shows basically that the Sonata has everything that much more expensive german cars have.
